with Premier Recognition Program Award
Bronze Level Award

Vince Jackson, Lead plant Manager in Mid-America, presents
the
Premier Recognition Program Award - Bronze Level Award to the Greater
Kansas City
PCC Industry Chairperson Richard Wills of IKON Office
solutions and to
Mark Mcdonald, Postmaster of Independence,
MO. (Postal Co-Chair).
The Kansas City Postal Customer Council was awarded the 2006 Bronze
Level Certification at a
National Broadcast on September 20. The Dallas,
Texas based simulcast was to set direction for
nationwide PCC's participation
for 2007 and recognize those that had met established criteria for
Bronze,
Silver and Gold levels of performance in PCCs nationwide. Local customers
viewed the
broadcast at the Kansas City BMC where they also toured the
BMC, watched the APPS
(new processing equipment installed at the recent
BMC renovation) work and had lunch.
The Bronze Recognition Program indicates that the Greater
Kansas City PCC has met Bronze Level
standards for educational efforts,
membership
criteria and certification standards. According to
Richard Wills, Industry
President "This is so exciting for us, this team has worked hard
to reach this
level of professionalism and will attain even greater heights
as we search for new and better ways to
align customers with the Greater
Kansas City Postal customer Council.". (Wills is with IKON Office
Solutions, Inc in Lenexa KS)

letters and designing automation flats.
Leave
a Forwarding Address for E-mail
As high school and college students soon leave home for college
or graduate from college, many of those
students will be changing their
email addresses. In this electronic age, most students aren't writing
letters;
they're sending emails.
With Return Path at www.returnpath.net (the
official Email Change Of Address, ECOA, service of the
U. S. Postal Service),
recent graduates can:
1) Send an ecard and easily notify anyone in their electronic address
book of their new email address.
2) Forward email from their old email address to their new one and automatically
notify the sender of their
new email address.
3) Set up an automatic response so that anyone who emails the graduate's
old email address will receive a
note alerting them to the graduate's
new email address.
To date, 15 million consumers have registered for Return Path's ECOA
service.
Easy
Access to Delivery Status Info Enhances Certified and Registered
Mail
(taken from a
newsletter titled "Grow! Information & Outreach
from Marketing")
Many
businesses and organizations have legal needs to confirm and document
the delivery of mail.
And retailers and consumers often want increased
levels of security when mailing items with a high
dollar or sentimental
value. With Certified Mail and Registered Mail, customers have
the perfect mailing
solutions to meet these needs.
Last year both products were enhanced with a feature aimed at adding
convenience for today's Internet
savvy customers: online verification
of the date and time of delivery. Available via the Track and Confirm
section of www.usps.com,
this online verification feature provides the quickest way for customers
to
obtain delivery status information for Certified mail and Registered
Mail and also provides a channel for
the Postal Service to supply the
information.
Realizing
that some customers don't have Internet access, as of May 20th,
delivery date and time
information for Certified Mail and Registered
Mail also can be obtained by calling 1-800-222-1811.
Both
products make good business sense and add the peace of mind of
knowing when an item was delivered.
Per amemorandum
from Anita J. Bizzotto (Chief Marketing Officer) &
Kenneth
C. Weaver (Chief Postal Inspector), both Postal Service Headquarters
employees in Washington, DC:
The
Inspection Service is utilizing the usps.com web site to extensively
communicate current
information
on all topics dealing with mail center
security. Bookmark the web pages and refer to them on a regular
basis
to stay informed about the latest developments in mail center security.
We are fortunate to have
valuable business communications resources
like the PCCs available to us at times like this.
